“My trip to tarbert”

Reviewed January 2017

I was in Tarbert as part of my work & didn't know what to expect. West Loch Hotel made me feel very much at home. The staff in the hotel could not do enough for me. I was nightshift at the ambulance station so asked me if a room at the back of the hotel would be more suitable and less noisy during the day while I slept. The staff arranged breakfast & dinner times to suit my shifts. The hotel was cosy and comfortable. I slept like a baby during the daytime with no disturbances. The food was delicious. The menu had something for everyone on it. I would certainly recommend this hotel to my family & friends. Incidentally this hotel is a pet loving hotel as I saw some dogs but never heard them barking in the rooms. Highly recommendable hotel Room Tip: Front of the hotel rooms have stunning views/ back of hotel have quieter rooms.

“The friendliest place ever!”

Reviewed January, 2017

We arrived here having been disappointed by many hostelries refusing us access because of our dogs. We wanted lunch.and we were directed to this lovely quirky hotel just 5 minutes from Tarbert. Not only were we and our Westie and Tibetan Terrier made welcome but we felt part of the owners/staff family. If you want a posh hotel where service is silver then this establishment is not for you. If, however, you want good down to earth Scottish hospitality then you will love this wonderful place. What a true GEM the West Loch Hotel is.

Avoid if you're snobbish or particular. A MUST if you're sociable, dog loving and outgoing. WE LOVED IT!!!!

“Smart and Comfortable”

Reviewed January 2017

This is a smart comfortable hotel run by proffesionals. We satayed as part or our Islay tour, and very glad we did. the rooms were bright, clean and comfortable. But it is the restaurant and bar that shines here, really great food, inventive and beautifully cooked and presented. The bar that is top notch, very well equipped with a fantastic collection of local malts, that has been really thougth about. The staff were very attentive without being over the top and everything was well priced. Great place

"The place to go if you are a foodie”

Reviewed December 2016

Been to the West Loch a few times now and the service is very friendly (thanks for the extra large coffee cup and cheeky wine with dinner), food is excellent every time just a good place to go to after a difficult day at work and when the weather is good the views out to the West Loch are great!
